The Emblem of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine is a round black shield with a gold frame. A straight equilateral cross with diverging crimson sides is positioned against the shield. An image of the Seal of Volodymyr the Great State is enclosed in the round blue medallion positioned in the center of the cross. The medallion is surmounted by the image of a four-pointed star, surmounted by the image of a "whipping" lily and by two crossed swords pointing upwards, positioned between the sides of the cross.
The edges of the cross, the star image and the swords are gold.
The height of the medallion corresponds to 2/5 of the height of the cross.


The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR)
It is the body responsible for the country's military intelligence activities and strategic special operations. Since its founding on February 7, 1992, the GUR has acted as the invisible eye of national defense, playing a crucial role in protecting the sovereignty, territorial integrity and security of the Ukrainian state.
Headquartered in Kyiv, the GUR operates under the principles of efficiency, secrecy and strategic intelligence, developing actions in multiple domains: land, air, sea, cyber and information.

As Ukraine's main military intelligence agency, the GUR has several strategic functions:
✅ Collection and analysis of military intelligence in conflict zones and occupied territories.
✅ Carry out special operations and secret missions against enemy forces.
✅ Cyber warfare and digital counterintelligence.
✅ Support for the International Legion of Ukraine and coordination of foreign volunteer forces.
✅ Sabotage, reconnaissance and elimination actions of high-value targets.
The GUR commands elite units, such as the GUR-MOR, which specializes in:
Sabotage behind enemy lines.
Precision strikes with drones and explosives.
Night operations and in hostile environments.
These forces are among the most active and respected in the current war in Ukraine, with emphasis on secret missions against Russian military bases.
Since 2014, and with renewed intensity after 2022, the GUR has been a key player in Ukraine’s defense against Russia. Based on strategic intelligence, the agency carries out:
Sabotage in occupied territory.
Cyberattacks against Russian critical infrastructure.
Logistical support for Ukrainian special forces and the International Legion.
Intelligence missions in partnership with NATO countries.
The GUR facilitates the integration of foreign volunteers into the Ukrainian defense forces, such as:

Groups of the International Legion of Intelligence and Defense These units operate with the support and tactical supervision of the GUR, in real war missions.
